Residential programs run 30 to 90 days, with the option to extend when clinically appropriate. Our IOP spans 8 to 14 weeks, while standard outpatient care continues as long as it delivers measurable benefit. Your care team reviews your plan frequently and adjusts the timeline to reflect your progress.

Yes. Our detox unit operates under continuous physician and registered nurse supervision 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Medical Director Dr. Ingrid Johansson leads a team of addiction medicine specialists who monitor every patient, administer medication-assisted treatment when indicated, and enforce strict safety standards throughout the entire withdrawal period.

Dual diagnosis treatment addresses addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders — such as depression, anxiety, or PTSD — simultaneously. Our psychiatrists and therapists work together to create an integrated treatment plan that addresses both conditions at our center.

Aftercare planning begins during your first week at SLT. Before discharge, your treatment team constructs a personalized continuing-care blueprint that may include step-down to outpatient services, referrals to sober living homes in the Sacramento area, ongoing individual therapy, peer support group connections, and enrollment in our alumni program. We remain a resource for you well beyond your time on our campus.
